"Courage to be the Change" An inspiring Success! In the past years, women have brought a lot of change to companies, corporations, international associations and organizations. It is the right time now to declare that women do not only initiate change, they are the change: the change to the authentic, the change to caring and sharing, the change to a new leadership and a feminine way of doing business. This year's Conference provides all women with visions, environment, strategies, skills and of course great network. It will boost inspiration, power and courage to be the change through living and sharing with others their own values and visions.
What a week it was! It's hard to imagine that not long ago thousands of airplanes were parked in the North 40, hundreds of exhibitors were showing their most recent innovations, and tens of thousands of aviation enthusiasts were enjoying EAA AirVenture 2008, the World's Greatest Aviation Celebration. Along with the new product announcements, special events, aircraft demos, and air shows that filled the daylight hours, an unprecedented evening program line-up made this a true "24/7" AirVenture. EAA's considerable efforts to capture the convention resulted in more than 82 videos, close to 30 photo galleries, and nearly 250 stories reported on throughout the week. Enjoy "AirVenture-365" on the AirVenture website www.airventure.org

IFALDA/EUFALDA General Meeting and World Airline Flight Dispatcher's Conference was held in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. It was a fascinating meeting. Malaysian colleagues were very friendly and we thank them for their hospitality. This meeting was really important for us because many Asian Airlines such as Malaysia Airlines (our hosts), Air China, China Hainan Airlines and China Southern joined us.
Hope you enjoy the photos.

Belgian Air force (www.mil.be) organized a marvelous air show in Koksijde/Belgium. There is a Belgian Air Force base in Koksijde. Numerous jets as well as display teams from various countries demonstrated the best of their abilities. For me aerobatics is breathtaking!!!
Also this year their Sea King helicopters celebrated their 30th anniversary.
They were so friendly. I met their Public Relations Manager on duty and informed them about AWE. They have several female pilots. Sounds great!
And of course I invited everybody I met to our meeting in Varese!!!!!

WOMEN IN AVIATION, INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2007 - CHAPTER SHOWCASE. A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR AWE. Thank you to all who were an active part of this! WAI had a large, attractive exhibit area at the annual conference February 15-17, and our European section was invited to participate in the Chapter Showcase portion of the exhibit on Friday afternoon. While in the booth, we had the opportunity to greet current and prospective chapter members and interact with other chapters and conference attendees, besides showcasing the European Section's activities. The lounge area was very busy the whole time! At the Chapter Showcase booth during the 18th Conference in Orlando WAI held a drawing for a free 2008 WAI conference registration. (Winners announced soon). This was another opportunity to make your networking visit to the International Conference complete! Enjoy the photos!

AWE - Aviation and Women in Europe together with PWA - Professional Women's Association of Rome organised a successful tour of the Italian Army Training Facilities in Viterbo on Monday 16th April 2007. Not only did we tour the premises and get to see the helicopters on static display, each participant even got a ride in the simulator! The youngsters, and not only, enjoyed this truly unique aviation experience. See you on the 10th May when the Italian Army Commemorates their 50th Anniversary! In the meantime, here are some of the photos for you to enjoy.
Thank you again to the Italian Army for this opportunity. www.esercito.difesa.it/root/concorsi/situazione_concorsi.asp

Thanks to the generous hospitality of Maria Fede Caproni, daughter of the late Eng. Gianni Caproni, we were treated to see the Ca.100 flying after 65 years!!
The original Caproni Ca.100, the only airworthy example out of 2 remaining worldwide, was restaured by Mr. Gerolamo Gavazzi, whom also restaured a seaplane version of the same type. Two perfect flying replicas have been built from vintage blueprints and have been taken to the air by the "appassionato mecenate trentino" Mario Marangoni together with his son Vittorio and Giancarlo Zanardo, the latter of whom already has built several replicas including the Wright Flyer.
These two planes are part of an ambitious project to bring "back to life" the memory of the early Caproni aircraft: the next endeavour is the Ca-1, first original-design airplane built in Italy.
The Ca.100 was the standard flight trainer in Italy from 1928 till the end of WWII: last operating example (I-ABMT owned by Gerolamo Gavazzi) was retired from flight service in 1968. The "Caproncino" made history as the first mass-produced Italian GA aircraft. Produced in Italy, Bulgaria and Perù for two decades and several hundred examples in terrestrial and seaplane version, only 5 original aircraft are left in the world, only two of them airworthy, plus the 2 replicas. The hydro version, of historical importance, belonging to the Caproni Museum Collection, together with the land version, underlines the operating flexibility and agility of a really popular as well as rugged airplane.
Event in the event, Capt. Francesco Volpi, 92-years old but still flying, had a chance to fly the Ca.100 again after 1935, when he got his first certificate.
